Hurtigruten Day 11

Hurtigruten Day 11
After another later night playing cards we slept in till 8.30am.  This is one reason why we like inside cabins especially when you are cruising with the Midnight Sun!

Our main stop of the day is Trondheim at 6.30am where we stay until 10am.  On our visit going north we covered most of the main tourist attractions. Given that it is a Sunday and it is an early visit we decided not to get off the ship.  It is a good 30 minute walk into the town and nothing opens before 10 so staying in bed seemed a better option to us!

The rest of our day was spent lazing around the ship talking, eating, taking in the views, blogging, reading, sewing and trying to finalise a plan for when we arrive back into London as our plans have changed.  We will now head to Manchester before going to London.  Problem is our flights are booked to Heathrow!  So thankful we have fast free unlimited internet access to research our options but it is looking like hiring a car will be the best.

At 4.30pm we had a scheduled stop for 45 minutes at Kristiansund, a pretty little seaside town with a busy marina.   As it was a nice sunny afternoon we decided to get off for a quick walk around.... mainly for a bit of exercise!  This is the port where the people doing the Atlantic Road tour were leave and they will rejoin the ship later in the evening at Molde.  I was keen to do this tour as this stretch of road is one of the Norway's most visited tourist attractions and has one a lot of engineering awards.  My main hesitation was that it had been raining most of the day and if you weren't sitting in the front seat then it maybe like travelling on any other road so I passed on the opportunity.  Still not sure I am happy with my decision but that is history now!

At 9pm we had a 45 minute stop at Molde.... known as the "city of roses".  This was predominantly to pickup the people that had been on tour but we took the opportunity to stretch our legs again with a quick walk down the main street to the church and back.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day as we have to disembark... we have to be packed with cases out by 9am.... problem is we can't pack until the morning as our cases and us won't fit in our cabin.... second problem is that we have to be out of our cabin by 10am and we do not arrive into Bergen until 2.30pm so will have to cart our hand luggage everywhere!  I'm not really whinging just getting tired!
