Climate: warm winters and hot dry summers although in the desert the temps can get down to zero at night.
Aqaba is a blend of sun, sea and mountains with pleasant year long climate. From the colourful fish and coral in the gulf of Aqaba to the rose coloured desert rocks in the fabled lost City of Petra.
Today, this small coastal town has emerged as a world class tourist destination full of medieval ruins, adventurous dive sites and a short distance from one of the most archaeological wonders of all time - The City of Petra. This 2,000 year old city is truly a man made spectacle not to be missed.
Petra is known as the "rose city" for its vivid shades of sandstone. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Petra (meaning rock) is packed with tombs, obelisks, temples and breathtaking vistas.
Wadi Rum (meaning desert) and also a UNESCO site of over 182 acres is located in the south of Jordan is also known as the "Valley of the Moon" and is now home to the Bedouin. The massive mountains whose 1000 foot ridges have been worn smooth by the desert winds.
